Quadratic Equations Graphing Calculator

I made this Visual Basic program to solve and work with quadratic equations in college level algebra.

Using the FOIL method it will find the equation for the solution values you enter, or you can enter an
equation and this equation calculator will find the solutions.

You can enter solutions which are fractions in the form a/b, and square roots using v to represent the
root. For example, enter v39 for the square root of 39, v16 for the square root of 16, etc. Enter the
solution values in the fields at the top and click on Factor Solutions to find the equation, or
enter the solutions in FOIL form and click on FOIL or enter the equation in the fields provided and
click on Solve for X to solve the equation.

A graph displays a plot of the quadratic function, with the x-intercepts and vertex indicated.

The discriminant and other information for the equation is also displayed.

You can download the program in a zip file by clicking here.

Create a new folder on your hard drive and extract the zip file contents to that folder. No installation
is necessary. Just click on Quadratics.exe to start the program.

NOTE: This program is a work in progress. Only fractions up to 98/99 and square roots up to v99 are supported.
Always double-check the results on your own calculator to make sure the solution works!
